More hospitals in Wuhan provide medical treatment for foreigners
More hospitals in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, provide medical treatment for foreigners, as the populations of foreign nationals who live in the city for the long term and in a short time have reached 15,000 and 180,000, respectively. In 2007, Wuhan Tongji Hospital established an international medical service department to provide more detailed medical treatment procedure for foreigners by carrying out cooperation with consulate generals of the United States, South Korea, France, etc in Wuhan. In 2012, Wuhan municipal government launched the project of “Home in Wuhan”, encouraging hospitals of Grade 3, Class A to provide medical services such as appointment, consultation and clinical reception for foreigners. Since this year, about 1,000 foreigners from 23 countries and regions have made medical appointments and been hospitalized in Tongji Hospital alone. At present, multi-language medical services are available in some outpatient departments of Wuhan’s major hospitals such as Tongji Hospital, Wuhan Union Hospital and Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University.
