American food festival to kick off

From Sept. 18 to Oct. 11, the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan in cooperation with the U.S. Agricultural Trade Office Shanghai and local partners Wushang Liangfan, Yihaodian, Ole (on Han Street) and Uber, will launch an American Food festival, to bring a tasty and fun ‘Fresh Journey’ to the people of Wuhan. During the food festival over 1,000 different American food products will be showcased in supermarkets affiliated to Wushang and Ole. You will be able to taste wine, nuts, fruits, and all kinds of savory American food.

U.S. Consul General in Wuhan Joseph Zadrozny notes the American food festival events will provide an opportunity for Wuhan consumers to experience more high quality and price competitive American food products, while at the same time learning more about American culture.

The Director of Agricultural Trade Office from the Consulate General Shanghai, Ms. Valerie Brown comments that the Agricultural Trade Office’s goal is to create and implement a strategy focusing on collaboration with the Wuhan retail, foodservice and food processing partners to bring more high quality American food products to the Wuhan market so that Wuhan consumers can enjoy a wide variety of food and beverage products from the United States.

The Agricultural Trade Office is a trade assistance and promotion office under the Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, who introduces and promotes American agricultural and food products to the China market through all kinds of promotional activities. Currently, they have Agricultural Offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shenyang in the mainland. The Agricultural Trade Office plans to increase its efforts in Wuhan with the support of the U.S. Consulate General in Wuhan.
